Awesomely Kickass Trailer and Images for VOLTRON: LEGENDARY DEFENDER!
Netflix and DreamWorks Animation has released the first trailer and poster for the their upcoming new series Voltron: Legendary Defender. We recently got our first look at the new Voltron character design and what I loved that it had the same feel and look of the original 80s series that I grew up on. Now just wait until you see the first footage of the series below! This is just a little taste of what this series has to offer.
In the new series, our five heroes come together to protect Arus and other planets against the evil alien force that are less by King Zarkon. The team, whose Robot lions make up Voltron, who is the last line of defense against this evil threat.
This past weekend Netflix and DreamWorks animation screened not only this trailer, but footage as well from the series and I was lucky enough to be in attendance to the fully packed room of fans.
If you were a fan of Voltron as a kid like I was this series is going is going to freakin' blow your mind! It's everything that fans would want to see, and in all honesty, there's a good chance that it could be even better, which is an insane thing for me to say! I can't even believe that I'm saying that, but it's true! When you see the footage I saw for yourselves you won't be able to deny it.
The animation in the film is absolutely beautiful. What else would you expect to see from the team that brought us Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Kora, though? The This is top notch production quality work that you don't want to miss.
Not only is the animation great but the characters are perfectly portrayed and they are incredibly fun and entertaining. There's a smart humor to each of their personalities that is just so damn likable. The tone and feel of the series also wonderfully radiates the classic 80s series, especially the music, which fits it so perfectly.
The footage that was screened at WonderCon gave me goosebumps. I was not expecting that to happen at all when I walked in to the panel. Then when I walked out I was glowing with happy nostalgia geekiness. I couldn't be more excited about watching Voltron: Legendary Defender! The first 13 episode will be released on Netflix later this year.
