The Primary Setting of DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE Has Reportedly Been Revealed
A new report has surfaced that claims to reveal the main setting of Deadpool & Wolverine, where most of the story actually takes place.
The trailer for the film teased a few different locations in the film, but according to movie insider @CanWeGetToast, most of the film is set in The Void. The report specifically says that 70 - 75% of the movie takes place there.
The Void is a main setting of the Loki series, it’s a place in the MCU that’s located at the end of time and is used to send everything pruned by the Time Variance Authority. If this is true, there’s no doubt that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool is going to have a lot of fun running around and causing havoc in The Void.
It’s an interesting setting that will open the door for all kinds of cameos from pruned Variants. It be interesting to see how this story ends up tying into the wider Multiverse Saga.
It’s also said that an earlier draft of the screenplay had the movie take place during the events of the original X-Men trilogy. Who knows, though, maybe some of that start made it into the final version of the film.
In the film, “After facing some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis. Wade Wilson decides to officially retire Deadpool and becomes a used car salesman. But when his friends, family, and the whole world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas out of retirement. He recruits an unwilling and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival, but ultimately, their legacy."
It’s also explained: "That f–king irresponsible hero Deadpool will change the history of the MCU with Wolverine!?"
The confirmed cast for the movie also includes Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in a TVA Agent, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. They are joined by Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend Yukio. It was previously confirmed that Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra in the movie.
Some of the other rumored casting includes Brian Cox as William Striker, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Lewis Tan as Shatterstar, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Taron Edgerton as a different Wolverine, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Dafne Keen as X-23, Rebecca Romijn as Raven, Julian McMahon as Doctor Doom, Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth, Daniel Radcliffe as Wolverine, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Wesley Snipes as Blade, and Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards. Oh, and most recently Henry Cavill as Spoiler.
Deadpool & Wolverine will hit theaters on July 26th!
